In Carnations is an original hip hop fusion band from San Diego. Friends since high school, drummer Roan Wadsworth, bassist Miguel Ochoa, and guitarist Alan Mackelburg have been playing together for many years.

 

Hip hop artist/keyboardist Eli of Earth joined the project in 2019, and the synthesis of the four artists’ musical styles resulted in the original sound that became In Carnations.

 

The name alludes to the many past iterations of the band, as well as the inspiration that the artists draw from the natural world. In Carnations often plays with Source!, another San Diego artist.
